Substack RoundUp
A few places to keep an eye on in a few corners of the internet

Hello Friends and Comrades,
While I was compiling news from the past 30 days I realized this month has been the longest year in history. I jest, but these past few weeks sure seem to have a lot of significant events, both near and far, packed into them. Minneapolis remains a city under occupation for sure. Snatch and grab abductions, by men in masks who do not identify themselves properly, remain a daily occurrence in Minneapolis and surrounds.
(PHOTO: Just one recent example of an abduction in the Twin Cities on 2/18/2026)
This months podcasts included the following:
SNV Special Interview: Lebanon - War & Seeds:
SNV Special Interview: Join The 20 Below Revolt!:
SNV Special Report: End Slavery In Minnesota:
SNV Special Interview: Modern Monetary Theory And Marxism:
Socialist Comoros: Socialist News And Views Episode # 79 (2/19/2026):
As I mentioned above this past month has been a lot and I haven’t even been on the front lines much. So this month I wanted to take a little of the pressure off of me and connect you with some other great resources for ongoing information and study.
But first I want to work a few folks into your scrolling. A number of these orgs/folks have been featured on the program in one form or another. If you are on Instagram…be sure to check them out…

lavishmack (Minneapolis): https://www.instagram.com/lavishmack/
Lavish is daily fighting for Collective Liberation.
That is just a short list of a few folks you should follow on Instagram. As always go back and listen to my previous interviews, reports and episodes to find more great comrades and organizations doing work in our communities and communities across the globe.
Substack is also growing and gaining additional traction as a place to communicate, coordinate and collaborate in taking our movements forward. I’ll share with you a few of my favorites and hopefully you can subscribe. These 7 are also listed in “recommendations” on my Substack page if you lose track of this email:
The Gauntlet (COVID Information, Updates, and Commentary from Julia Doubleday):
Solidarity Now (A US-based political organization that attempts to recognize that multiple methods of organizing are effective):
Twin Cities Labor Report (The Twin Cities Labor Report (TCLR) is a modest attempt at a weekly newsletter on the happenings in the labor movement in Minnesota by Paul):
Thinking Liberation (Weekly thoughts for a liberated world -- and the generational spiritual and political work to get there by David Boehnke):
The Raven (In this journal Patrick Mazza aims to map a future through increasingly troubled and uncertain times):
Workers Resist (By workers, for workers, to build multiracial working-class power together):
Red Scare (Nick Estes examines history and politics from an American Indian anti-imperialist perspective):
As always we have some great podcasts coming out for you over the next month. We always try to do more than just present a perspective but to offer you all access to information. That is what we do with the podcast. That is what we do with this newsletter. And that is what we do with the FR3E BOOK5 ta6le.
Which brings me to another point. Saturday March 7th 2026 from 1-4PM at Whittier Park will be the Really, Really Free Market. Feel free to bring any items in good condition that you would like to give away. We will have the table of curated books out for folk to look through and take what they want. The only rule is that anything you bring you have to take back with you at the end of the market if it hasn’t been taken.
(FLYER (darkened): For the Twin Cities - Really, Really Free Market in March)
For those that are in Minneapolis and the surrounding area I hope to see you at the first market of the year for 2026. It is a great place to meet other people, share some things you may not need and possibly get some great new fun stuff or stuff you require. And while we are trading stuff we can talk about whatever we want and begin to organize whatever we need.
I hope in your community you are organizing with you neighbors and that in your workplace you are organizing with your coworkers. You should be doing both to the extent that you are able.
In between writing that last paragraph and getting back to it now I went to a webinar and was reminded of one more Substack I wanted to include. From Eric Blanc who was on the panel for the webinar.
Labor Politics (Working-class organizing and politics from Eric Blanc):
Also, since I first started writing this it looks like almost all those other Substacks I listed above have posts/newsletters out just TODAY!
So go check out all those other very important sources above. Make sure you are plugged into at least one thing in your community (yes, you.) And take good care of yourself and your community as well.
You will hear from me again in mid-March. If you didn’t notice this yet I always aim to put this newsletter out on the Monday after our regular monthly episode. So for those that are keeping track that is the first Monday after the third Thursday of the month. That will be exactly 30 days from today - March 23rd.
Solidarity,
Nick Shillingford
P.S. I just found or re-found (is that a word?) the Triple Ampersand Journal. It also seems worth reading if you want some insight into this world we inhabit.

Thanks for the mention of Twin Cities DSA. I have been in it since 1986 and boy how it has grown! Also the one comrade who writes Twin Cities Labor Report and the two comrades who write Workers Resist! are also DSA members. Of course we have been described as "running Minneapolis" (not in a good way) but that is a major exaggeration.
